"The Stone Terraces" is a tribute to the men and women who built the original stone walls at Quinta dos Malvedos in the late 18th century. The wine is produced from two tiny, low-yielding plots at Quinta dos Malvedos, totaling just under 3 hectares, laid out on impressive stone terraces. This special Port is made only when conditions are ideal and when these vineyards, in the words of the Symingtons, "sing" beautifully and beg to be bottled as a separate Vintage Port. The 2024 edition marks only the sixth time ever that this cuvée has been released as an independent vintage. The old, mixed plantings consist of traditional Douro grape varieties such as Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Amarela, and Sousão, rooted in dry, slate-rich terraced soils. The grapes are trodden by foot in granite lagares, followed by fortification and a short aging period in large oak barrels before the wine is released unfiltered. is bottled.
The 2024 Stone Terraces reveals refined aromas of mango and passion fruit, lush and irresistibly seductive, with complex layers. The broad, all-encompassing structure displays a pure fruit expression, luxurious tannins, and a refreshing acidity. The alcohol content is 20%, with a pH of 3.6 and approximately 103 grams of residual sugar, slightly drier than the classic Graham's style. Connoisseurs describe this vintage as particularly aromatic, floral, refined, and elegant without sacrificing power. Only 6,240 bottles of this wine were produced, making "The Stone Terraces" an extremely rare and coveted bottle.

This wine is at best 10 to 15 years after the harvest but can also be drunk young.
The 2024 growing season delivered moderate conditions and gradual ripening, allowing for exceptional aromatic development and balanced phenolic maturity. Cool September nights and carefully timed harvesting ensured remarkable freshness and purity, while traditional foot treading in granite lagares enhanced the wine’s texture, structure, and complexity.

Store & Serve
Serve at cellar temperature at 12 - 15ºC.
Decant before serving. Can be kept for up to 2 days after opening.
Thanks to its structure and concentration, this port wine can be aged for decades; some sources speak of aging potential until 2070. As with any great Vintage Port, drinking it young is possible, but its true potential only reveals itself after years of rest in the cellar.

19/20 - JancisRobinson.com Tasted: May 2026. When to drink: 2034 to 2074

The aroma is unique, focused, deep and complex, full of layers. Red and forest fruits, a curious note of passion fruit, bread, spices, toasted cocoa, discreet resins like peach. Very full-bodied, almost pasty, voluminous and velvety, with aromatic herbs like pennyroyal and rosemary, vigorous tannins, yet round and polished, very powerful, although with elegance guaranteed by the integrated acidity and controlled sweetness. Very long, impressive finish.
