Typical of a tawny of this age is a deep amber to mahogany color with a greenish rim. On the nose, a rich palette unfolds, featuring dried figs and apricots, walnuts and hazelnuts, caramel, orange peel, honey, and spices such as cinnamon and clove. On the palate, it is silky-smooth and full-bodied, yet never heavy, thanks to a lively freshness. The finish is exceptionally long, with the aromas lingering for minutes afterward.
Food pairing
It pairs wonderfully with crème brûlée, walnut tart, tarte Tatin, dark chocolate with nuts, and aged cheese, such as a long-matured Comté or Parmesan, as well as with foie gras. It is also delicious on its own, making it an ideal way to conclude a lovely evening, perhaps accompanied by an espresso or a piece of dark chocolate.

Grapes: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Francisca, Tinta Barroca, Souzão, Tinto Cão, Tinta Amarela and old vines
A tawny matures in small, old oak casks, where the wine comes into contact with oxygen very gradually. Year after year, it undergoes a transformation: the dark red fruit gives way to an amber hue, and the aromas evolve into notes of dried fruit, nuts, and spices. A 30-year-old tawny is a blend of various aged vintages, with an average age of thirty years. The cellar master carefully composes the blend to ensure that the same style and quality are maintained year after year.
