Deep amber with golden accents. Intense and aromatic with a bouquet of dried figs, raisins, and plums. Notes of caramel, nuts, vanilla, and a hint of spices, particularly cinnamon and clove, are also discernible. Soft and velvety on the palate, with a rich and layered flavor profile. The aging process ensures well-integrated acidity, which balances the wine's sweetness. A long and satisfying finish, with persistent notes of dried fruit and a touch of oak.
Food pairing
This port pairs wonderful with treacle tart, crème brulee or nut based desserts, like hazelnut praline.

The Colheita Ports from Quinta das Carvalhas are the result of the selection of high-quality wines from the estate, from top vintages, that have the potential for aging in wood. These are batches of wine from a single vintage, aged in barrels of various sizes – from 550-liter barrels to 7,500-liter barrels – for a minimum of 7 years. Aging in wood promotes the development of aromas and flavors characteristic of the Tawny category. Due to the long aging process, these wines evolve into very complex wines, while always retaining the characteristics of the original harvest. As a result, they are unique and highly original wines.

This is a very fine aged tawny. It shows just the right richness as well as elegant spice, old wood and orange toffee flavors. It is a wine to savor, rich and just still hinting at fruit. Drink now. Roger Voss
