This harmonious and accessible red wine comes from Quinta de Manoella in the Douro Valley, a terroir that owes its character to the cooler environment provided by the surrounding forest. The wine is made from grapes from 43-year-old vines, comprising four grape varieties (60% Touriga Nacional, 25% Touriga Franca, 10% Tinta Roriz, and 5% Tinta Francisca), still harvested together in the vineyard. The grapes are still traditionally trodden by foot and fermented in lagares. The wine aged for 16 months in well-seasoned, neutral oak barrels, resulting in a soft, integrated finish without overpowering the fruitiness.
