A red wine made from the Alicante Bouschet grape variety, a rare and distinctive red grape originating from France but widely cultivated in Portugal. The Alicante Bouschet grape is particularly interesting because it has dark red pulp and tinted skins, resulting in wines that are deep in color and rich in tannins. It is often used to produce full-bodied and powerful wines. The Quinta do Vallado Alicante Bouschet typically exhibits intense aromas of black fruits such as blackberry and black cherry, along with spicy notes and sometimes hints of cocoa or coffee. On the palate, it is full-bodied, with a firm tannic structure and good aging potential.

This robust and full-bodied wine pairs well with flavorful dishes such as grilled or roasted red meats, game, aged cheeses, and pasta dishes with rich sauces. It can also be enjoyed on its own as a meditation wine. Due to its strong tannic structure and good balance, the wine improves with a few years of bottle aging.

After malolactic fermentation, the wine is transferred to used 225-liter French oak barrels, where it remained for about 16 months.
