NAAdC01R Cartuxa EA Red Reserva 2023

The Cartuxa EA Tinto Reserva comes from sunny Alentejo, one of Portugal's most characterful wine regions. On the nose, it displays ripe red fruit and forest floor, complemented by subtle accents of leather and tobacco. Restrained and serious in style, but never closed. On the palate, the wine is full and soft, with vegetal and earthy nuances that add complexity. The tannins are ripe and silky, the finish long and mineral. A wine with character and class.
The first wines were produced in 1992. The line of EA wines consists of 4 different wines, a white, rosé, a red and a red reserve. Also a white and red BIO wine were added to the range. The initials EA stand for Eugenio de Almeida, the founder of the wine house Cartuxa.

Food pairing

When the grapes have reached ideal ripeness, they are harvested and transported to the winery, where they are completely destemmed and lightly pressed. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 24-27ºC. After fermentation, a portion of the batch ages for 6 months in wooden oak barrels. Following aging, blending, filtration, and bottling take place.
