About the artist

Herman Brood (Zwolle, 1946 – Amsterdam, 2001) was one of the most iconic Dutch artists of his time. He gained fame as a musician and frontman of the band Wild Romance, while simultaneously building a successful career as a visual artist. His work is characterized by spontaneous lines, bold colors and an unfiltered expression. Brood created with a raw energy that reflected his personality: free, rebellious and uncompromising.
