About the artist

Ad van Hassel (Roosendaal, 1953) is a Dutch artist with a broad and versatile background. He began painting around 1980 and developed a distinctive, colorful style. In addition to his work as a painter, he was active for many years as a screen printer, collaborating with artists such as Herman Brood and Corneille. This background is clearly reflected in his work: free, expressive, and strongly focused on color and movement. His paintings move between abstraction and figuration, leaving room for interpretation — which is exactly where their strength lies.
