Portal da Calçada marks  the entrance of the emblematic Casa de Calçada dating back to the 16th century. This is another one of those amazing value red wines from Portugal that shouldn’t be overlooked. This plump wine really over delivers with mouth filling black forest fruits, plum, espresso and smoke. Soft tannins with a lift of acidity keep the wine fresh and easy to drink and keep you going back for another sip. Portal da Calçada is the house wine of the Michelin star restaurant and Relais & Châteaux of the same name. The vineyards are right next to it.
