This wine is made from grapes from Carril (a vineyard older than 70 years) and from another vineyard with still older vines of almost 100 years old, located near the Quinta de Napoles. It is the result of a strict selection of the grapes in the vineyard and on the sorting table

Food pairing
The Batuta is a very flexible food wine and pairs well with meat and fish such as monkfish, squid and grilled octopus et and matured beef fillet, wild boar stew or lamb tagine with mild spices.
Grapes: Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Rufete, Malvazia Preta and others
Old vines, 80 to 100 years old, located at high altitude on the slopes of Cima Corgo, in the Vale de Mendiz region, on crumbly, poor, and steep schist soils. Grapes are harvested by hand, with careful sorting. Fermentation takes place in lagares and wooden vats, with gentle pumping over. Aged for approximately 20 months in French oak barrels, 25% of which are new. No fining or filtration.
