Every Carlo is traditionally crafted and completely hand-finished by skilled artisans in Italy. The frame is finished with silver leaf metal and then further treated and patinated by hand. This creates the deep, nuanced and subtly aged appearance that is characteristic of antique silver.

The patina creates subtle variations in colour throughout the profiling of the frame. In some areas the silver remains brighter, while other sections appear slightly darker and more aged. This adds depth to the frame and beautifully highlights its refined profile.

Silver leaf metal
The wooden mirror frame is traditionally finished by hand with silver leaf metal. This gives the Carlo its characteristic silver base.

Patinated by hand
After the silver leaf has been applied, the frame is further treated and patinated by hand. The patina adds depth to the silver and creates its characteristic antique appearance.

Silver with an aged character
Antique silver is not a completely uniform colour. Subtle differences between lighter and darker areas emphasise the profiling and give the frame a natural, gently aged appearance.
