Bold, stately and full of character: the Basilio Black-Antique Silver is a large Baroque mirror that instantly gives an interior a distinctive appearance. The wide, beautifully profiled wooden frame is richly detailed without appearing overly ornate. The combination of aged antique silver and deep matt black gives the Basilio a powerful yet elegant look.

A characteristic feature of the design is the deep matt black inner band. This dark line interrupts the antique silver finish and creates a strong contrast. It gives the wide frame additional depth and beautifully emphasises the profiling and different layers of the frame.

The corners are finely finished with decorative corner ornaments. These ornaments form an important part of the design and give the Basilio its distinctive Baroque character. The combination of the wide profiling, decorative ornaments and black inner band gives the mirror a rich and stately appearance without becoming overly elaborate.

The silver-coloured sections of the frame are completely finished by hand with silver leaf and subsequently patinated. This traditional treatment gives the silver additional depth, subtle colour nuances and the characteristic aged appearance of antique silver. The black sections are finished in deep matt black, creating a striking contrast with the antique silver.

The Basilio is particularly suitable as a large mirror and is also available in sizes exceeding two metres. This makes the model especially impressive as a generous floor mirror or full-length mirror, as well as a wide horizontal mirror above a fireplace or piece of furniture.

The silver-coloured sections of the wooden frame are completely finished by hand with silver leaf. This gives the profiling and ornaments their rich silver appearance.

After the silver has been applied, the finish is patinated by hand. This creates subtle colour nuances and additional depth, giving the frame its characteristic antique silver appearance.

Deep matt black
The inner band is finished in deep matt black. The strong contrast between black and antique silver emphasises the shape, ornaments and different profiles of the wide frame.

Entirely finished by hand
Every Basilio is coloured, silvered and patinated by hand using traditional craftsmanship. As a result, subtle variations in colour and patina may occur. These small differences emphasise the unique and handcrafted character of each mirror.

Thanks to its wide frame and generous range of available sizes, the Basilio Black-Antique Silver is particularly suitable for larger spaces. A version measuring two metres or more can give an entire wall character as a freestanding floor mirror while also serving as a generous full-length mirror.

The Basilio also looks particularly impressive when hung horizontally above a large fireplace or a wide piece of furniture. The aged antique silver gives the frame character and depth, while the deep matt black inner band adds strength and balance to the design.
