The strength of Carlo lies in the combination of simplicity, balanced proportions and handcrafted details. The 8.5 cm wide wooden frame has enough presence to give the mirror character while remaining refined and elegant. The gold colour beautifully emphasises the profiling of the frame and gives Carlo a rich appearance without becoming overly ornate.

Every Carlo is traditionally crafted and completely finished by hand by skilled artisans in Italy. The wooden frame is carefully decorated with gold-coloured metal leaf. The thin sheets of metal leaf are applied individually by hand to the profiling, giving the frame its characteristic warm gold appearance.

Unlike antique gold, the gold finish is not patinated. This keeps the gold colour bright and warm and allows the natural subtle sheen of the gold-coloured metal leaf to remain visible. The slight variations created by the manual application give the frame depth and emphasise its handcrafted character.

Particularly beautiful are the carefully finished corners of the frame. After assembly, the corners are finished and coloured so that the usual mitre joints are barely visible. The gold finish therefore continues beautifully around the entire frame, creating a harmonious and seamless appearance.

Because the gold-coloured metal leaf is applied entirely by hand, small variations in colour and surface may occur. These subtle differences make every Carlo Gold unique and highlight the traditional craftsmanship behind the mirror frame.

Carlo Gold is also available as a made-to-measure mirror. The dimensions can therefore be fully adapted to the available space, from a smaller wall mirror to a generous full-length mirror or a wide horizontal mirror above a piece of furniture or fireplace.

Gold-coloured metal leaf
